Château Style Homes
A chateau architectural style is a country house in the form of a manor. The property assumes a large plot of land ennobled with trees, gardens, foliage and resembles a small castle built of stone. The layout includes a ground floor (which typically serves as a wine celler), while the first floor offers spacious living areas and bedrooms. The upper living floors are mansard with elongated gothic view lookouts, turrets, arches, columns and balconies.
Country Style Homes
Country homes are two-story cottages with a courtyard surrounded by rich green vegetation. The homes are basementless with surrounding facades finished with plaster of light colors. The roofs are multi-pitched or covered in tiles. Also, absent are porches and only equipped with one or two steps acting as an entrance from a connecting path to the house. Doors and windows are focal points to the design offering interiors an abundance of natural night.
Normandy Style Homes
The Norman style, also known as rustic from its stone wall decor, is characteristic of the northern regions of the country. Strong gothic elements are commonly expressed along with crossbeams on the facade in the tradition of half-timbered houses. Norman houses are also distinguished by a mass of decorations and a small conical turret, which makes the building look like a medieval castle. A distinctive feature of the Norman-style house is the presence of a hip roof and a significant slope.
Chalet Style Homes
A chalet-style house is a European-inspired home, known for sloping gable roofs, verandas and are simplistic with uncomplicated design. Chalets are most often built of stone on two floors with wood finishes. The classic chalet style has gincreasingly popular and a perfect combination of distinct luxury and comfort. It is a common sight at mountainside ski resorts, woodsy lakeside communities, and vacation spots where the main attraction is the wonder of great outdoors.
